Today, the Supreme Court of India refused to grant bail to Manish Sisodia, a prominent leader of the Aam Aadmi Party. Sisodia finds himself in judicial custody, entangled in corruption and money laundering cases linked to investigations conducted by both the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
The bench headed by Justices Sanjiv Khanna and SVN Bhatti pronounced the verdict today.
The former deputy chief minister was arrested in connection with cases involving the Delhi excise policy scam and for his role in endorsing documents to expedite the distribution of funds for development initiatives within his assembly constituency.
During a previous hearing on October 5, the Supreme Court had put forth tough questions for the central agencies investigating the Delhi liquor policy case, asking for evidence they claim to have against Sisodia.
