Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister, was apprehended by the ED team on Thursday evening following a two-hour questioning session regarding the purported liquor scam. Earlier that day, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had issued the CM's tenth summons for interrogation, eventually leading to his arrest. Even the intervention of the Delhi High Court failed to provide relief to Kejriwal.
The arrest of CM Arvind Kejriwal in connection with the alleged liquor scam of Delhi occurred subsequent to nine previous summons issued by the ED. On Thursday evening, the ED team arrived at Kejriwal's residence with the tenth summons and conducted a two-hour interrogation. Joint Director Kapil Raj from the ED was also present during this questioning, wherein Kejriwal's statement was recorded under section 50 of PMLA.
The interrogation was led by ED investigating officer Jogendra, who reportedly also conducted a search of Kejriwal's residence. Simultaneously, Kejriwal's legal team lodged a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the High Court's ruling.
Meanwhile, Delhi Cabinet Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj arrived outside Kejriwal's residence and hinted at preparations for his arrest. Today, the Delhi High Court made a significant remark indicating that CM Kejriwal is not immune to arrest. Additionally, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann shared a post on Instagram, asserting that the political manoeuvres of the BJP, represented by the ED, cannot stifle Kejriwal's ideology, as only AAP possesses the capability to counter BJP's agenda at any moment.
