Breaking: Central Govt. clears appointments of 6 (six) Judicial Officers as Judges of Bombay High Court

The Union Government has cleared the appointment of six judicial officers as additional judges of the Bombay High Court. Notification to the effect has been published by the Department of Law, Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India. This would make the total strength of judges in the Bombay High Court 67.

The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended the names of these six persons at a collegium meeting held on 07th September 2022. The Collegium had also recommended the names of two advocates for elevation as High Court Judges; however, those names are yet to be cleared. The names of these judicial officers are as follows:-

  1. Sanjay Anandrao Deshmukh

  2. Yanshivraj Gopichand Khobragade

  3. Mahendra Wadhumal Chandwani

  4. Abhay Sopanrao Waghwase

  5. Ravindra Madhusudan Joshi

  6. Vrushali @ Shubhangi Vijay Joshi
