Bar President summoned by High Court on issuing resolution to remain absent from work

The bench of Justice Sudesh Bansal recently summoned Laxmangarh Bar Association President Mr. Pyarelal Meena in person with regard to a resolution under his seal and signature which required all the advocates of the Bar Association to remain away from judicial work and not to appear in court for holding a condolence meeting on account of death of an advocate on 27.01.2024.

The court noted that the resolution was issued by the Bar Association, Laxmangarh, District Sikar with consent of Members of that Bar Association, which took a decision for deferring judicial work from their side on 29.01.2024, for the purpose of holding a meeting for condolence.

The Court referred to a notification of the Bar Council of Rajasthan which said that these notifications were issued pursuant to the consensus arrived at in the meeting held by the Hon’ble Committee comprising of representatives of the bar Council of Rajasthan and the concerned Bar Associations of the Rajasthan High Court, Jodhpur & Jaipur and it was finally resolved that references in the event of death of a bar member shall be held at 3:45 P.M. and at 11:45 A.M. in case of morning courts in all the District Courts. The Hon’ble Full Court duly approves the resolution dated 25.04.2015.

Considering the importance of the case, the court passed an order that, the "Registry is directed to issue notice to Advocate, Mr. Pyarelal Meena, President, Bar Association, Laxmangarh, District Sikar, as also to inform him through WhatsApp, E-mail and telephonically. A copy of this order be also sent to the Bar Association Laxmangarh, District Sikar for compliance."
