Bar Council of India Announces AIBE 18 Admit Card Release

The Bar Council of India (BCI) is scheduled to release the admit cards for the All India Bar Exam (AIBE) 18 between December 1st and 5th, 2023. Eligible candidates who have completed their registration for the exam will be able to download their online admit cards from the official BCI website during this period.

The All India Bar Exam, initially planned for December 3, 2023, has been rescheduled to December 10, 2023. This decision was made to prevent any scheduling conflicts with the CLAT PG exam and MP State Judicial PT, both also set for the same day. The Bar Council of India emphasized the importance of these exams and the need to offer students a fair chance to perform well. The revised date aims to ensure candidates can dedicate themselves fully to excel in these crucial examinations without any overlap or disadvantage.

Previously, the passing percentage for reserved categories such as SC, ST, and differently-abled students was set at 35%. However, the passing criteria for the All India Bar Exam has been revised. For general and OBC category students, the qualifying mark is now 45%, while for SC, ST, and differently-abled students, the passing percentage has been adjusted to 40%. This change aims to ensure a uniform and equitable standard across categories while acknowledging the diverse needs of different student groups.

The All India Bar Examination, organized by the Bar Council of India, is a nationwide offline test designed for law graduates aspiring to practice in courts. Eligible participants include graduates from both 3-year LLB and 5-year LLB programs. Successful candidates obtain COP certificates upon passing the AIBE, enabling them to practice law in Indian courts. These certificates serve as a gateway for legal practice within the country's judicial system.
