The family of a renowned 10-year-old spiritual orator, known as "Bal Sant Baba," has approached a Mathura court seeking the registration of a criminal case against at least seven YouTubers for allegedly trolling the young speaker.
In the complaint, filed by the child's mother, the YouTubers are identified by name as proposed accused. The complaint alleges that the YouTubers uploaded videos intended to mock and defame the child's religious beliefs, claiming the content was "maliciously designed." Additionally, the complaint accuses them of violating the minor's privacy.
The conduct of the accused persons has forced the "present complainant to the stage of absolute collapse and family suicide", it claims
"The actions of the accused persons have caused immense emotional suffering for the complainant's minor child, especially considering that the complainant's minor child is only 10 years old. He is unable to freely practice his religion or live his daily life without the fear of being harassed or insulted physically or online," the complaint states.
Several videos of the 10-year-old, widely known as "Bal Sant Baba," have recently gone viral online, sparking public debate about his authenticity and spiritual credibility. Many viewers have questioned whether his actions are self-motivated or if he might be influenced by his parents for fame and other benefits.
The young orator became embroiled in controversy after a video surfaced showing him dancing enthusiastically in the presence of a prominent religious figure, Swami Rambhadracharya. The Hindu spiritual leader appeared displeased with his behavior and reprimanded him publicly, further fueling discussions online.
In the complaint filed with the Mathura magisterial court, the child's family alleges that YouTubers are profiting from content aimed at the minor and claims these individuals hold anti-Hindu sentiments. The family has requested legal action, asserting that these videos not only defame the child but also violate his privacy.
"It is alleged that the accused is an anti-Hindu element, and the content of the videos was crafted to promote hate against the practices and beliefs of the Hindu religion, thereby polluting the minds of its followers."
The complaint further asserts that the actions of the accused are not merely defamatory but constitute a calculated effort to disrupt religious harmony and incite hatred. It requests that the court direct the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against the accused for offenses including criminal conspiracy, outraging religious feelings, cheating, criminal defamation, criminal intimidation, and extortion.
According to the complainant, prior efforts to seek police intervention were unsuccessful, as authorities allegedly failed to take appropriate legal action against the accused.
