In a significant administrative move, the Allahabad High Court has ordered the transfer of 582 judicial officers across Uttar Pradesh.
The decision, issued as part of the “Annual Transfer-2025” process, was announced on Sunday evening by Satish Kumar Pushkar, Joint Registrar of the High Court.
The reshuffle includes 236 Additional District and Sessions Judges, 207 Civil Judges (Senior Division), and 139 Civil Judges (Junior Division). The transferred officers have been instructed to assume their new postings immediately.
Kanpur saw the highest number of transfers, with 13 judges relocated, followed by Aligarh with 11 and Bareilly with five.
Among the notable transfers is Judge Ravi Kumar Diwakar, who had earlier directed the survey of the Gyanvapi Mosque in Varanasi.
Previously transferred to Bareilly, he has now been posted to Chitrakoot District Court. Known for referencing religious texts in his judgments, Diwakar recently made headlines in Bareilly after issuing a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against Islamic cleric Maulana Tauqeer Raza.
