Allahabad HC stays Hearing on Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi and Shahi Idgah Dispute

On Thursday, the Allahabad High Court conducted a one-hour hearing on the land dispute case involving Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi and the Shahi Idgah Mosque in Mathura. The proceedings focused on the proposal to conduct a survey of the disputed premises, with advocates from the temple side requesting the inclusion of two lawyers and a retired judicial officer in the court commission. However, the Muslim side expressed opposition to the appointment of the Court Commissioner during the hearing.

On behalf of the Muslim side, it was said that an advocate who could argue on their behalf was not present in court. The Muslim side also argued that the case is to be heard in the Supreme Court on January 16. Therefore, the Muslim side requested to postpone the hearing of the case. However, the court has reserved the decision after hearing the arguments of both sides. The case has been heard on the single bench of Justice Mayank Kumar Jain.

Advocates from the Hindu side argued that the court commissioner should be appointed soon. Because efforts are being made to destroy the Hindu symbol in the disputed complex. If the symbol is destroyed, it will cease to exist. In the proceedings of the Court Commissioner, a demand has been made to do photography and videography of the disputed premises. After the survey, the complete record should be presented in court. The Hindu side protested against the repeated postponement of the hearing by the Muslim side.

According to the Hindu side's advocate, Mahendra Pratap Singh, shoot number three, in which Aurangzeb took the idol from Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi and installed it in the Jama Masjid of Agra,. This has been kept separate from the entire matter. The court has ordered to hear all sixteen cases related to the Mathura dispute together. In this matter, the court has asked ASI to reply.

The advocate for the Hindu side has expressed hope that the decision of the case will come in a day or two. In the month of December, the court had ordered a survey of the disputed premises by the Advocate Commissioner. At the same time, plaintiff Ashutosh Pandey, associated with the case, has expressed hope that the court will give a decision in favor of Hindus.
