Allahabad HC, order to name Land registered as cemetery in the name of Banke Bihari Trust

A hearing was held in the Allahabad High Court on Friday in the matter of registering the land of Banke Bihari Mandir in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh as a cemetery in the revenue records. Allahabad High Court has issued a big order in this matter. The High Court has canceled all the wrong entries made in the government documents of the temple land. The High Court has issued an order to cancel the wrong entries, sometimes in the name of cemetery or sometimes in other names, declaring them void

The High Court ordered to enter the name of the land and temple in the revenue records within a month. The court has ordered the SDM of Chhata tehsil of Mathura district to register the temple land in the name of Shri Bihari Ji Seva Trust within 30 days. The trust operates the temple. The case was heard in the single bench of Justice Saurabh Srivastava.

The petition was filed on behalf of Shri Bihari Ji Seva Trust. An amended application was filed in the court on Friday by the Trust. While hearing this application, the court accepted it and issued the order. It was alleged in the trust's petition that the land of Banke Bihari temple was registered as a graveyard under political pressure

In 2004, when Mulayam Singh Yadav was in power in Uttar Pradesh, his party's youth brigade leader Bhola Khan Pathan had given an application addressed to the CM. The then Chief Secretary had given orders on this. It was only after the government's order that the temple land was registered in the name of the cemetery. The temple trust complained against this several times but no action was taken. Later this land was declared as old population.

This petition was being heard in the High Court. In the hearing held last month, the court had also summoned the SDM and other officers of Chhata tehsil to the court. The case is related to plot number 1081 of Shahpur village of Chata tehsil of Mathura. Since ancient times, Gata number 1081 was registered in the name of Banke Bihari Maharaj.
