All Constitution Bench matters in Supreme Court to be Live Streamed from September 27

A full Court of the Supreme Court judges has decided that all Constitution Bench matters would be live streamed. The full Bench presided over by Chief Justice of India Uday Umesh Lalit has unanimously decided that live streaming should begin with broadcasting constitutional cases on a regular basis. Last week Sr. Advocate Indira Jaisingh wrote a letter to the Chief Justice requesting that the Supreme Court live stream proceedings involving matters of public and constitutional importance. She was one of the petitioners in a petition who sought live streaming as a component of every citizen's right to freedom of information and access to justice.

Supreme Court's e-committee headed by Justice DY Chandrachud issued model guidelines to govern live streaming of the court proceedings.

Few of the High Courts such as Gujarat, Orissa, Karnataka, Patna, and Madhya Pradesh have already started broadcasting the proceedings on Youtube.
