Advocate Pasala Ponna Rao has been appointed as the Deputy Solicitor General to represent the Central Government in the High Court of Andhra Pradesh. Prior to this appointment, he served as counsel for the Central Government, and his elevation to Deputy Solicitor General was formalized by a presidential order.

Advocate Rao's tenure as Deputy Solicitor General is expected to last for three years, or until further orders, whichever comes first.

“The President is pleased to up-grade the panel of Shri Pasala Ponna Rao, Central Government Counsel for High Court of Andhra Pradesh as Deputy Solicitor General of India, as shown below, for conducting Central Government litigation before the High Court of Andhra Pradesh, for a period of three years with effect from the date of this order or until further orders, whichever is earlier,” the order read.
